CDG airport

CDG (Charles de Gaulle, also known as Roissy Airport) – France’s largest and most important airport, located 25km (16 miles) northeast of Paris. CDG has 3 terminals, interconnected with free bus routes and a free metro, the Cdgval.
Most areas in CDG airpo offer free wifi access for the first 15 minutes which is a nice bonus…
The largest variety of restaurants, bars and coffee shops is found at terminal 2. Terminal 3 has some restaurants and bars as well.
Duty Free shops are found at terminal 2 and also close to all boarding gates.
If you happen to stay the night in CDG, you can find Sheraton Paris Airport Hotel & Conference Centre in terminal 2 or several other hotels close by to the airport itself.

There are several means of transportation available to/from CDG airport, whether you are heading to Orly or Beauvais airports, Disneyland or Paris city itself.

Both Air France and SNCF run buses to/from the center of Paris, the fair is around €10 – €20.

Trains are quicker than buses and perhaps more convenient, especially the super-fast TGV from Aérogare 2 (Terminal 2), which gets you to central Paris in no time at all. Another train service, the RER, takes a little longer but it connects to the Paris Métro (subway).

Taxis are even more convenient, but you will pay considerably more for the pleasure. Still, if you’re interested, be aware that Paris taxi drivers have the option to accept up to 3 passengers if they wish. This poses a problem if you are a medium sized family.

Perhaps the easiest method of transportation overall is a shuttle transfer: pre-book a pick-up and all you have to do is turn up at the airport. Again, such convenience comes at a price, but you might well feel it is worth it to get you to the comfort of your hotel quickly without the hassle of carrying your own luggage after a hectic flight.
